Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important to us. It is JOBY Events Organizing and Managing's policy to respect your privacy and comply with any applicable law and regulation regarding any personal information we may collect about you, including via our app Joby and its associated services.
"Personal information" means any information about you as an identifiable person. This includes information such as your name, contact details, date of birth, social media profiles, and information about how you use our app and services.
If our app or website contains links to third-party sites or services, please note that those sites and services have their own privacy policies. After following a link to any third-party content, you should read their posted privacy policy to understand how they collect and use personal information. This Privacy Policy does not apply to your activities after you leave our app or website.
This policy is effective as of July 1, 2024. Last updated: December 2025.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in two ways:
- Voluntarily provided – information you knowingly and actively provide when using our app and services.
- Automatically collected – information automatically sent by your device when you access our app.
1.1. Account and Profile Data (Voluntarily provided)
When you create a Joby account or complete your profile, we may ask you to provide:
- Name
- Email address (if applicable)
- Phone / mobile number
- WhatsApp contact
- Social media profiles or handles (e.g. Instagram, TikTok, Facebook)
- Date of birth (for age verification, Joby is 17+ and may include nightlife events)
- Gender
- Nationality
- Languages spoken
- Any photos or media you choose to upload to your profile (e.g. profile picture, portfolio)
We only ask for information that is reasonably necessary to provide our services, including matching creators with venues and brands.
1.2. Log Data (Automatically collected)
When you access our servers via the app, we may automatically log standard data provided by your device, such as:
- IP address
- Device type and operating system
- App version
- Your activity within the app (e.g. screens viewed, buttons tapped)
- Time and date of access
- Technical details about any errors you encounter
While this information may not directly identify you on its own, it may be possible to combine it with other data to identify you.
1.3. Device Data and Permissions
Depending on how you use the app, we may request access to certain features of your device, such as:
- Notifications – to send you updates about applications, event confirmations, and important account information.
- Camera and photos/media – only if you choose to upload a profile photo or portfolio content.
We do not currently access your location, calendar, contacts, or SMS/phone logs. If this changes in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and ask for any required permissions before such access.
You can control or disable these permissions in your device settings, but this may affect some features of the app (for example, you might not be able to upload a profile photo if you deny camera/photo access).
2. Sensitive Information
We do not intentionally collect "special categories" of personal data (such as health information, political opinions, religious beliefs, or biometric data) unless required by law or with your explicit consent.
We may process:
- Date of birth – for age verification (Joby is 17+).
- Gender – to help venues and brands find suitable creators for roles or collaborations where gender may be specified.
We treat this information with a higher degree of care and only use it for the purposes described in this policy.
3. Legal Bases and Legitimate Reasons for Processing
We only collect and use your personal information where we have a lawful basis to do so, such as:
- Performance of a contract – to create and manage your Joby account and provide our services.
- Legitimate interests – to operate, improve, and secure our platform, prevent fraud, and match creators with relevant opportunities.
- Consent – where required by law, for example, for certain marketing communications. You may withdraw your consent at any time.
4. How We Use Your Information
We may collect, hold, use, and disclose personal information for the following purposes:
- To provide and operate the core features of the Joby app and platform.
- To create and maintain your account and profile.
- To match creators, venues, and brands based on profile information (such as languages spoken, gender, nationality, and social media presence).
- To contact and communicate with you (for example via WhatsApp, email, or in-app notifications) regarding applications, event confirmations, and support.
- For internal record keeping, analytics, research, and improving our services.
- For security, fraud prevention, and to ensure the app is used in line with our Terms of Use.
- To consider an employment or collaboration application with us (if you apply).
- To run competitions, surveys, or promotions, if you choose to participate.
We will not further process your personal information in a manner incompatible with these purposes.
5. Security of Your Personal Information
We use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information from loss, theft, and unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification.
However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for choosing strong passwords and keeping your login details confidential.
6. How Long We Keep Your Personal Information
We keep your personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
For example, we keep your data while your Joby account is active. When your account is deleted or no longer needed, we will either delete your personal information or anonymize it so that it can no longer identify you, unless we are legally required to keep it for longer (e.g. for legal, accounting, or reporting obligations).
7. Children's Privacy
Joby is not intended for children under 17 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 17. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it.
8. Disclosure of Personal Information to Third Parties
We may disclose personal information to:
- Our parent, subsidiary, or affiliated companies.
- Third-party service providers who help us operate the app and provide services (for example, hosting, data storage, analytics, error logging, and customer support).
- Our employees, contractors, and professional advisers, to the extent they need the information to perform their duties.
- Venues, brands, or partners where this is necessary to facilitate a collaboration, event, or booking that you apply for or accept.

We require all third parties to respect the security of your personal information and to process it in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
9. International Transfers of Personal Information
Your personal information may be stored and processed in the United Arab Emirates or in other countries where we or our third-party service providers maintain facilities.
If we transfer your personal information to a country that does not provide the same level of data protection as your home country, we will take steps to ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place (such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent measures) and that your information remains protected in accordance with this policy.
10. Your Rights and Control Over Your Personal Information
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of any inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Request deletion of your personal information.
- Restrict or object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format (where applicable).
You are not required to provide personal information to us; however, if you choose not to provide certain information, some features of the app may not be available (for example, we cannot create a full profile or match you with venues without basic profile details).
Account deletion
You can request deletion of your Joby account and personal data at any time by contacting us at
support@jobyevents.com (or via any in-app "Delete account" option, where available). Once your request is processed, your personal data will be permanently deleted or anonymized, except where we are legally required to retain certain information.
11. Marketing Communications
If you have agreed to receive marketing communications from us, you may opt out at any time by:
Opting out of marketing does not affect important service or transactional communications (e.g. about your account or bookings).
12. Cookies (for website use)
If you use our website, we may use cookies and similar technologies to enable core functionality, understand usage, and improve your experience. Please refer to our Cookie Policy for more information about how we use cookies and how you can control them.
13. Business Transfers
If we or our assets are acquired, or in the unlikely event we go out of business or enter bankruptcy, your personal information may be transferred to a third party as part of the business assets. Any such third party will continue to be bound by this Privacy Policy (or a policy with substantially similar protections).
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our business processes, legal requirements, or best practices. We will post the updated policy here and update the "Last updated" date.
If changes are significant, we may notify you via email or in-app notification. Where required by law, we will obtain your consent to any material changes.
15. Additional Disclosures for GDPR (EU/EEA) Users
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, or another region with similar data protection laws, additional rights may apply to you (such as the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority). JOBY Events Organizing and Managing acts as "data controller" for your personal information.
